How the WNBA playoffs work
- The eight teams with the best records make the playoffs, regardless of conference.
- They’re seeded 1–8 by record: 1 plays 8, 2 plays 7, 3 plays 6 and 4 plays 5.
- The first round is best-of-three, followed by the semifinals and the best-of-seven WNBA Finals. Higher seeds have home-court advantage.
Tiebreakers
Head-to-head record, then record against teams .500 or better, then point differential.
How the odds work
The odds come from playing out the rest of the season thousands of times. Each simulated game is decided by the two teams’ records so far, pulled toward average early in the season, and teams that finish level are separated with the league’s official tiebreakers.
