Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of racetotheplayoffs.com (“the site”), a free, personal project run by an individual in Colorado, USA (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
What the site is
Race to the Playoffs shows sports standings, playoff odds and brackets, and lets you save brackets, share them and compare them with friends. It's free and is meant for entertainment.
Odds and data are estimates
- Playoff odds come from simulating the rest of each season based on records so far. They're estimates, not predictions or guarantees.
- Standings, schedules and results come from third-party sources and may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. Some tiebreaker steps are approximated.
- Nothing on the site is betting, financial or other professional advice. Don't rely on it to place wagers or make decisions with real money.
Not affiliated with any league
We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, WNBA, MLS, NWSL, NCAA, Premier League, ESPN or any team. Team names, logos and marks belong to their owners and are used only to identify the teams.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 to create an account.
- You're responsible for activity on your account. Keep access to your email account secure, since that's how you sign in.
- Use one account per person, and don't impersonate anyone.
Your content
Usernames, bracket names, group names and picks are your content. You keep ownership of it. You give us permission to store it, display it, and show it to the people you share it with, as needed to run the site.
Don't post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that infringes anyone's rights or reveals someone's private information. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
Groups and scoring
- Groups are just for fun. Scores are calculated automatically from published results and may be corrected if the data was wrong.
- Picks lock when the real playoffs begin. Trying to get around the lock or tamper with scores isn't allowed.
- Don't use groups to run gambling or contests with entry fees or prizes.
Fair use of the site
Don't try to break, overload or gain unauthorized access to the site or other people's accounts, and don't scrape it or access it with automated tools in a way that burdens it.
Changes and availability
The site is provided free and may change, pause or shut down at any time, including features, leagues or saved data. We'll try to give notice of major changes when we reasonably can.
We may add advertising, sponsorships or optional paid features in the future. Anything that costs money will be clearly marked, will come with its own terms that we show you before you pay, and won't be charged without your agreement. Features that are free when you start using them won't start charging you without notice.
Disclaimer
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on its data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to $50 or the amount you paid us to use it, whichever is greater (the site is free).
Ending your use
You can stop using the site at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@racetotheplayoffs.com. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about the site or these terms will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Colorado, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. If you live somewhere that gives you consumer protections that can't be waived, those still apply.
If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
Changes to these terms
If we update these terms, we'll change the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
